Johanna’s passion for decorating began at a young age, inspired by her love for creating warm and inviting spaces. This passion flourished when she and her husband, Eric, embarked on a memorable journey to the mountainside of Cebu. They discovered beautifully hand-woven baskets and rugs, which they carefully selected to adorn their new home. Captivated by the artistry and tradition behind these pieces, Johanna couldn’t resist sharing them online.

What started as simple posts quickly captured the attention of many, leading to an unexpected wave of interest. People began requesting unique pieces for their own homes, and from that moment, the dream of Among Balay Furniture came to life. What began with crafting a single custom chair soon evolved into producing a hundred, driven by a commitment to quality and design.
